By the time you will read this article, the moment when one decides upon New Year’s resolutions will have come and gone. However, you may want to take this in consideration, nonetheless. Life is short, and we cannot know what we love until we try it. And now that many of us can work away from the office, it just may be the perfect time for trying to split life between two locations. Here are a few countries that could add to your life either as a holiday destination, for a second home, or indeed even working abroad as a short-term digital nomad..

Germany

When people think of Germany, they immediately imagine a very strict society that only takes pleasure in work. But that is far from being true. Very much like Londoners, Berliners work hard during the day and party the same way, when the evening comes. This city is particularly welcoming to all, so no one will feel as if they are being kept on the outside. When you are out and about, you will always meet someone new with whom you can connect, and you never know how it will end. If this all sounds like something you could enjoy, start looking into removals to Germany.

France

In many ways, French people are more rigid than their German counterparts. It can be difficult finding our place in a city like Paris. However, if you like good wine and complex food, this is certainly the country that will attract you. It makes you wonder how the French are able to remain so thin, when you add their amazing baguette to the sauce and the French pastries which are simply divine. But let’s face it: The nicest thing about France is that you can get there by train, through the tunnel, in no time. Sharing your life between London and Paris is a dream that many people will envy.

Spain

This is another country that is close enough to come and go easily. It is probably the most common way of life for Brits too. This is the place where they buy a second home, so that they can benefit from a little sunshine, when it is has been too long since they saw its pretty face, in the Northern country. France may be famous for its rich food, but there is no cuisine more celebrated in the world than the Spanish one (Just don’t say that to an Italian…). The people in the South are definitely more open and sympathetic than in the North. Living in Madrid can be a little stressful, but a few months a year in Sevilla, will certainly raise your happiness level by a few notches.

Italy

We have kept the country of beauty for last. Let’s face it, if you are looking for a little sweetness, every now and then, Italy is hard to beat. And if you are looking for friendly Mediterranean faces, you will find them here more easily than in the two previous countries, we have just mentioned. The only problem with Italy is that you will start by sharing your time here and there, but soon enough, you will never want to come back home.
