Latest Trends In Women’s Fashion For Winter 2022
As the days grow shorter and the leaves are pretty much all gone, it can only mean one thing: winter done came!
While some may dread the cold weather, winter is always a great time to experiment with new styles and fashion trends. It’s just… Sometimes it’s hard to know which trends to hop on. Thankfully, we’ve got you covered.
From cosy knits to statement leather coats – read on for our roundup of the latest trends in women’s fashion for the snowy season of 2022 and slay the winter!
1. Snatched Waist
Whether it’s a blazer with a nipped-in waist or a dress with a cinched silhouette, it’s quite obvious to us that an hourglass figure is back in style. But then again, did it ever leave?
Balmain and Dior made a splash with their corset-like creations, and it looks like this trend is here for a while.
What I dig most about this look is that it gives not-quite-hourglass ladies like myself an opportunity to show off their curves. You know, fake it ’til you make it. And let’s face it – we’re all faking it during the holiday season.
2. Maxi Skirts and Dresses
I don’t know about you but I’m head over heels in love with this trend. It’s all about sophistication and drama, with a hint of femininity thrown in for good measure.
Maxi skirts can be paired with pretty much anything from crop tops to oversized sweaters and blazers – depending on the kind of look you’re going for.
And long dresses are great choices for those special occasions when you need to look extra put together.
3. Mini Skirts
Wait, what? How can both be in style? Well, turns out that mini skirts can make just as much of a statement as maxi skirts – it all depends on how much you want to show off your toned legs! Also, how well you can handle the cold.
Anyway, Miu Miu made a real big splash with the mini skirt, showing off a whole lot of designs that took us back to those simpler times when Avril was all the rage and we all thought Y2K was going to be the vibe to stay.
So, take a cue from Miu Miu and give your mini skirts an edgy spin this winter.

Knitwear can still be sexy
4. Knitted Sweaters
I, for one, can’t get over the fact that I can’t knit my own sweater. You know what, I’d settle for a scarf.
Knits are so evergreen, for lack of a better word – and this winter is no exception. From chunky cable knits to sweaters with intricate patterns, you’re sure to find one that suits your style.
A great thing about owning a few knitted sweaters is that you can easily layer them up for those extra chilly days. Warmth and style in one – what more could you ask for in a winter garment?
What’s especially poppin’ these days are cardigans. And, quite frankly, I never thought I’d say this but I’m here for it. Oversized, cropped – whichever way you decide to go with this trend, you’re guaranteed to turn some heads.
5. Padded Shoulders
Let me paint you a picture. Roped shoulders, snatched waist, and an exaggerated hourglass silhouette. Yes, I’m talking about the power-dressing looks of the 1980s. And, baby that’s back!
Whether you choose to go with a more subtle look or embrace it all the way – you can’t deny that those big and hard shoulders are doing something for us ladies. This look is basically a representation of how strong and powerful we can be – even in the midst of winter’s chill.
This time ’round it’s all about oversized blazers and short skirts. A great combination for day-to-night looks, if you ask me.
6. Cargo Pants
Who knew that having pockets is so freaking awesome. Maybe those dads are onto something?
Be that as it may, cargo pants are back in a big way, and it looks like they’re here to stay for at least this winter.
Whether you prefer the skinny or the baggy version of these pants, they are sure to keep you warm, stylish, and dare we say, functional, at the same time.
And, who doesn’t love a comfortable and comforting pair of pants? So, if you haven’t already – it’s time to give cargo pants a try.
7. Leather Garments
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself reaching for your leather trousers or a skirt on a regular basis this winter. It’s all about incorporating a touch of edginess into your looks, and leather is the perfect way to do it.
The way I see it, a short tight dress and a badass black raincoat are the perfect way to channel your inner rock star this season. Plus, leather garments look great with almost anything so you can definitely mix and match them with some of your other favourite pieces.
Just know, you certainly don’t have to go the real leather route because faux can glow, too. And we are very pro-faux here at Mojo.

8. Fur Coats
Speaking of real and faux, if you want to dazzle and turn some heads this winter – you’ll want to invest in a fur coat. Whether it’s real or faux (we’ve got our own opinions on why fake is the only choice), the texture and colour of a fur coat will make any look feel more lux and special.
The way to do it this season is to choose a piece that’s looooong. Like, for real, it should feel like you’re wearing a blanket. I’m talking down to your knees ladies!
9. Transparent Fabrics
If we learned anything from mini skirts it is that your skin is the star this season. And, no, I’m not talking about your smooth-as-a-butter, glistening face. No. I’m talking ‘bout all of it!
‘Tis the season to be daring, and transparent fabrics are the way to do it. From tops to dresses – if you can see through it, wear it! Okay, maybe not all the time but you get my drift.
Transparency is the way to go if you want to add a bit of edge and sass to your persona, but not if you want to make a great first impression at a job interview.
10. Not Balenciaga
Honestly, Balenciaga’s latest move was nothing short of disgusting and tasteless and no amount of fake Instagram apologies can make up for it. Suing the PR firm doesn’t hide the fact that it had to be signed off from the Brand.
So, if you don’t want to support the, and the beyond unethical practices and “daring” campaigns – I’d strongly recommend pulling a Kanye and leaving them behind.
After all, there are so many other brands out there that are doing it right. With a conscience.
Sum Up
Anyway, ladies, that would be the top ten trends for your winter wardrobe.
Whether it’s snatched waists, cargo pants, or see-through dresses – you shouldn’t have a hard time picking out a stunning outfit!
So, go forth and slay!
